...because I think they're messy & destructive & mean, at least the reptilish green ones. I wasn't allowed to watch the movie as a child, so I'm not 100% sure they came from pods, but it seems like a reasonable origin, don't you think? But hopefully not from a pod like the one I found, because that would totally give me the willies.
